Why is the battery life so short on the Z10?

Most Useful Answer JanSt  Mar. 18, 2013 at 18:10

Why oh why...???

What is "so short"? I read some reviews that complained - apparently, they just about managed a working day. How poor is yours?

Also: when I read those reviews, I had to ask myself how those people use their Z10?!
Obviously, getting a new phone with a completely new OS means that you play around with it more; that you look for apps, experiment with settings, shortcuts, sync etc etc etc...

So, new phone and new OS means more strain on the battery. Usually, after a while people
get used to the new things, and their usage normalises, and the battery life improves.
It's why every new iOS update or Android upgrade brings with it complaints from users who claim the battery life is decreased. In most cases that is nonsense - they just use the phone differently after the update to figure out what's new...

Yeah true, having a better phone might mean you use it more than old one even when settled into it too.

But anyway check the battery usage to see which apps are using the battery and whether any are preventing it from sleeping when you aren't actively using it.

having a better phone so you admit the Z10 is the better phone? :p
Just kidding.

:p
Presumed they'd upgraded from another BB, can't see anyone else buying one. But was a general point.
Also assumed that BB has a way to check which apps are using battery which might not be the case.

Nah, there are and you can...

surely it only takes an hour to realise how bad the bb10 is, after that its usually left alone..and it still doesn't last a day?

Despite the fact they 'sold out', I've still never seen a Z10 in the wild...the world still seems to be populated by: iPhones, high-end Samsungs and the odd ancient (usually falling apart) BB.

True...
Same here. The local O2 store have had the Z10 in stock since launch. They sold one - to a guy who sent it to Poland (it's a small town :p and I'm the town pump )
