"buy"? Samsung Galaxy S2? Is it hot? http://samsunggalaxysforums.com/showthread.php/8383-Fried-mainboard
Anyway: Apparently a new motherboard is not cheap (nor easy to replace) Check out => http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2285696
AND => http://phonerepairtutorials.co.uk/samsung-galaxy-s2-completely-dead/ ($160-$200 only worth it if you have warranty)

The S2 is relatively easy to take apart, here's a YouTube video which shows you how to do it. I've followed this guide for replacing the vibrate motor/headphone jack and it's accurate.
The main board for an S2 is expensive, very expensive. That and the display are the two most valuable parts of the phone. It might actually be easier to sell the dead S2 on eBay and buy a new one for £200 from Orange. At least that way you get a fresh 2 year warranty and the knowledge that the phone will work fine as it's brand new. That's what I'd do in your situation, anyway (or take the opportunity to upgrade to a new phone, depending on how long I'd had the S2).
