Is there any benefit to having a PS3 and a Sony Xperia phone?

Is there any benefit to having a PS3 and a Sony phone? Like can the Sony Xperia phone be used a controller for the DVD player, anything like that?

Don't see any relation between PS3 and a phone. There is no difference between any other Android phone and Sony Xperia phones in terms of functionality.
Only Xperia Play has keypads, every other Sony phone says Sony on it - that's pretty much it.

Don't see a benefit of having a phone control living room appliances, did you lose a remote? Universal remote offers much better functionality.

Why would you have a DVD player, if you have a PS3?

Have you ever heard the fan of a PS3 in a movie's quiet moments?
