Is there a big diff in performance between HTC Desire HD and Sensation?

Is there much point in upgrading from an HTC Desire HD to a Sensation? Would I notice much difference with the dual core processing?

Depends what you use your phone for really. If you play lots of intensive games or stream lots of HD video or look at lots of flash heavy websites, then yes, the upgrade is probably worth it. If not, then I'd stick with your Desire HD.

I haven't used a Sensation, yet, but matt is making sense. I had a Htc Desire when it came out, and after an early love affair we broke up. Sense takes a lot of juice, and now and again the Desire HD struggled.
Also, from the few minutes with the Sensation I gotta say the hardware is really superior.

Jan's right, Sense is a hungry beast, battery and processor wise (and RAM wise for that matter). The Desire and the DHD both struggle if you load them up with widgets and stuff. Though I've heard reports of the Sensation lagging as well, even with more power, as they added sense 3.0, it still lags.

More power + more intensive GUI = same old lag...
