One of the stars of the end of October craziness is Microsoft, with Windows 8, Windows Phone 8 and the Microsoft Surface RT. Phew.
In an in-house interview, Microsoft chairman Bill Gates has been discussing the imminent wave of stuff, describing the Surface – surprise, surprise – as “an unbelievably great product”.
Said interview is available to watch over on the YouTubes, with the Microsoft Surface content starting around the 3:30 mark.
Gates reckons the Surface embodies the notion of: “Can you get an even better tablet that also has what you expect in a PC? A tablet that’s got a stand, a tablet that you can attach a keyboard… but also gives you access to classic software like [Microsoft] Office.”
The chairman reckons we should all go have a play with the Microsoft Surface in store, as you “can’t appreciate it without seeing it.” We’ll do that, Bill.
Last weekend it was suggested that Microsoft Surface pre-orders in the UK wouldn’t be satisfied till November 2 – a whole week after the proposed October 26 release date.
However, Microsoft has since explained: “All customers should expect their devices by the original date given when orders were placed. Microsoft is following up with customers to confirm their original shipping date remains unchanged, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused.”
