It’s the all-you-can-eat buffet of the smartphone world: the black Samsung Galaxy S III 64GB is finally on its way, and you can pre-order yours right now for a mere £600.
So far it’s only Clove that seems to be offering it – the same Clove that first told us it was on its way back in August – and even then it says it will only carry it if it gets enough orders.
We hope its definition of “enough” means “around five”, because that is a serious price premium just for more storage. Admittedly it ships with a 64GB microSDXC card, which makes it the first ever smartphone with usable storage running into three figures out of the box.
Either way, it’s a seriously niche device, and Clove doesn’t seem too confident there’ll be enough interest to make it worth carrying.
In a blog post to announce the pre-order listing, Clove said it will see how many orders have been placed in a fortnight’s time and go from there.
If it does decide to stock the handset, it will ask pre-order customers to confirm their interest, and only then will payment be processed.
Clove says it’s expecting a 5-6-week turnaround, but will provide an updated ETA in a couple of weeks.
So here’s the question: any takers from the good citizens of Mobotia? Assuming you had the cash, would you go for it? Let us know in the Comments…
