Black Samsung Galaxy S III with 64GB storage arriving October

Black Samsung Galaxy S III with 64GB storage arriving OctoberLips were well and truly licked this week when the first snapshots of the black Samsung Galaxy S III appeared on t’interweb.

Well, if you thought that was exciting, get a load of this: online retailer Clove reckons a black Samsung Galaxy S III with 64GB – yes 64GB – internal storage is set to drop in October. Good lord.

Better still, Clove reckons the black 64GB Samsung Galaxy S III will be here in early October, giving the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 some much-needed help in beating up the iPhone 5. Fight! Fight! Fight!

A post on the Clove blog explains: “The news of the large internal storage is particularly interesting as it will make the S3 black the first SIM-free smartphone to launch in the UK with 64GB internal storage.

“With its microSD slot compatible up to 64GB, that gives it a whopping total of 128GB, which puts it well ahead of its closest competitors.”

Other Samsung Galaxy S III specs remain unchanged, so you’re looking at a 4.8in Super AMOLED display, 1GB of RAM, an 8MP rear camera, and all those silly new TouchWiz features.

No, it won't:

My Nokia N9 appears to have 64gb too.... ;-)

Yeah needed a proviso on there about 64gb internal and expandable.
Seems like they want to gouge money out of those who really really want the black if 64gb is only one available

I'm unsure if it means that the black is also available in 64gb, or that 64gb is only available in black.

Would seem odd restricting a popular colour to an unpopular memory size, as 64gb is only of interest to people who need 97gb or more of storage space on their phone.

The colour thing doesn't bother me too much, though the Pebble Blue in the UK is supposedly different to the US version (?). I was a little disappointed in the metallic grey-esque hue of the Blue.

The Black 64GB will be crazy money when it launches, we can be sure of that. What's happened to the 128GB MicroSD cards I kept reading about?

The largest cards out atm are 64gb. The Micro SDXC specification can support up to 2tb cards, but they're years away from existence.

I doubt the 64gb S3 will be supported by the networks, so it'll be a SIM only purchase only. You'll be looking at around £600, I reckon. Ouch...

Yeh, I know, I just bought a 64GB SDXC card. The earliest articles I could find about the upcoming 128GB were from nearly a year ago, still no updates about them.

Just wondered if anyone knew anything about the 128GBs.
