BlackBerry BBM beta rolls out to select Android and iOS users

BlackBerry BBM beta rolls out to select Android and iOS usersBlackBerry users have long claimed that BBM is the best messaging service out there, and now it's time to see if they're right.

The first beta version of BBM for iOS and Android has just tiptoed onto the scene, with a small number of users having been hand-picked to test the service and provide feedback.

It's not known just how many have been invited to test out the BBM beta, but the chosen few have been contacted by email to test out BlackBerry's instant messaging service ahead of its full rollout later in the summer.

“You have been nominated to join a new program within BlackBerry Beta Zone!” the email reads. “If you have an Android device (ICS/4.x.x+), we invite you to sign up for the BBM beta and help us test BBM on your Android device before it gets released worldwide later this summer.”

The Apple-flavoured invite presumably reads the same, though with iOS 6 as the base requirement OS-wise.

Anyone out there taking part in the beta testing? If so, feel free to share with the class.
