BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900 release date confirmed

BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900 release date confirmedMan, we seem to be writing about BlackBerry phones quite a lot all of a sudden. Not that I’m complaining. Makes a change from the bloody iPhone 5.

Yeah, so, the UK release date for the BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900 has finally been confirmed, courtesy of Phones4u and The Carphone Warehouse. Huzzah.

Earlier reports suggested an August 18 release, however The Carphone Warehouse has cranked it up a notch, and reckons it’ll fire out the BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900 on August 12. Sweet.

Phones4u, meanwhile, appears to have slipped a wee bit, and says you can: “Order today for delivery on 24/08”. Poo.

Both sites offer a variety of contracts, with the rather random starting price of £31PM.

As we’ve mentioned several times recently, the Bold Touch 9900 will be the most powerful BlackBerry yet, with a 1.2GHz processor. It also has a 5MP camera, 8GB of on-board storage, and a 2.8in touchscreen above the obligatory Bold QWERTY.

We found out yesterday the BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900 will be joined by two Torches, namely the 9810 and 9860. All three will run the spanking new BlackBerry OS7. Why RIM, you’re really spoiling us.

Wow. great price info, indeed hahaha....

I wish Nokia had slapped a 2.8'' screen on the E6. Obviously millions of people don't mind carrying 4,3'' Android slabs... I find some apps are just not made for touch on the E6's 2.4'' screen. e.g. I went back to Opera Mini 4.3 to use with d-pad rather than fiddle with OM 6.1 and the onscreen controls.
I don't have huge fingers, and I reckon many E6 users will enviously look at the Bold 9900... only question is price. Nokia priced the E6 decently - it's cheaper than the E72 upon launch... will RIM slap some Torch like outrageous price on the simfree/prepay Bold 9900? That'd be a bummer, RIMMERS.

That BB 9900 looks ace, still can't help but think that BB's have had their day?
