BlackBerry R10: specs, sketch, release date for entry-level handset leaked

BlackBerry R10: specs, sketch, release date for entry-level handset leakedTo date, the only BlackBerry 10 handsets we’ve met in an official capacity are the all-touch BlackBerry Z10 and the QWERTY-toting BlackBerry Q10.

“What’s next for BlackBerry 10?” is a pretty valid question as it stands, and one particular leak suggests we should brace for the entry-level BlackBerry R10. Heck, said leak even includes a lovely sketch.

We’re crediting anonymous tipsters, referred to only as “our sources” by BlackBerry Empire. A non-disclosure agreement means we're looking at a sketch, as opposed to, like, an actual photo. Hmm.

In any case, they’re saying that the BlackBerry R10 will be an entry-level BlackBerry 10 handset at an “affordable price”.

BlackBerry R10 specs are said to include, uhm, an 1800mAh battery and 8GB internal storage – augmentable via the microSD slot. That’s about all we know for now.

The sketch is clearly of the rear of the BlackBerry R10, and as such we’re not sure if we should expect a QWERTY keyboard on the front. We’re thinking probably, yes.

A recently leaked BlackBerry 10 roadmap certainly included a QWERTY keyboard on its R10, though the roadmap's authenticity remains up for debate.

Finally, the BlackBerry R10 release date is tipped for late summer/early "fall" (or "autumn", to you and me). Yeah, hurry up and get some more handsets out, Heins.
