Now the BlackBerry Z10's getting the Porsche Design treatment

Now the BlackBerry Z10's getting the Porsche Design treatmentRemember the Porsche Design BlackBerry Bold from last year? It wasn't everyone's cup of tea, mainly because it was stupidly expensive, but it was certainly both distinctive and well made.

And now it looks like Porsche and BlackBerry have decided to come together for a second time, this time to give the all-touch BlackBerry Z10 a high-price makeover.

Vietnamese site Tinhte has got its hands on a bunch of decent quality pics of the latest Porsche Design handset, which will reportedly be called the P'9982 (the first one was the P'9981).

And while the QWERTY-less face means there's less of a visual difference this time between the conventional BB handset and the Porsche one, it's still decent-looking if you're into your industrial brushed aluminium stylings.

The back cover has been re-upholstered in what looks like textured plastic, which should stop it sliding around much, but that aside the pics don't give anything away.

According to Tihnte the Porsche Design BlackBerry P'9982 is currently in testing will go on sale sometime next year for around $2,000 (£1,300-ish).

Are they crazy?
The Porsche Bold at least had a solid, usable foundation. The Z10??? Why not a Platinum Motorola Rokr?

All the 'Porsche Design' BBs have been Ugly, to say the least - at least with the z10 they can't muck it up too much as it's really the thin top and bottom and the back itself.
And with that, I echo the "why"? You're not getting updated software or internals and a limited facelift isn't worth the premium at all. If it truly were Porsche design then I'd expect an entirely revised chassis, not a bodykit (especially for the price)
