It is a cheeky question.

These guys are providing a free service and you're asking to get around it. It's flipping free. At the moment Ovivo are a very small company. They can't afford to take the hit like other free services like youtube can.

It's a 5 second advert every 15 minutes browsing time. It's not much.

Don't be the guy responsible for making Ovivo go bankrupt. Their free service is the best thing to happen to the UK mobile industry.

Try AdFree or AdAway for Android. As for iOS or any other OS, I have no idea if/how you can block ads.

I don't even know if AdFree or equivalent would block Ovivo ads on Android devices.

Surely loads of people using Ovivo aren't watching any adverts anyway? I can see the service being popular with older people who only use their phone a few times a week, the same people who don't own a smartphone, therefore spend no time browsing.

True, but when ovivo stopped doing ads they reduced the allowances to 100mb and 100 mins (something like that). Now that they're introducing adverts again they've upped the allowances to 500mb and more mins/texts.

So the ads are helping fund it.

It's NOT a cheeky question;

Ovivo only earn money if you click on an advert. I NEVER click on popup/banner adverts as a matter of principle. They would never earn any money from me so the adverts are just an inconvenience, so if they could be blocked it's not going to affect them.

AdAway will block adverts, but it only works with rooted phone.
Ovivo page would still display without adverts and you would need to press continue.

As you said, Ovivo only earns money if you click on an advert. If they block you it's not going to affect them.
