We’ve been jawing about the Asus Nexus 7 for what feels like forever now. You know the script: quad-core processor, 7in display, price tag of $199, yadda yadda yadda.
The rumour mill is pointing its chubby finger at this week’s Google I/O event for the Asus Nexus 7 launch, and the mighty Bloomberg is happy to lend credence to that notion.
Bloomberg credits “two people familiar with the matter… who asked not to be identified because the plans are private.” Fair enough.
The sources don’t say too much about specs, but reiterate the old $199 rumour while confirming that Jelly Bean (probably Android 4.1) will captain the Asus Nexus 7 ship.
Earlier this week, Gizmodo Australia dished a ton of dirt on the Asus Nexus 7, thanks to a leaked training document.
Asus Nexus 7 specs were said to include an IPS display with 178-degree viewing angle and 1280 x 720 resolution, 1GB of RAM, a GeForce 12-core GPU, NFC, and a 1.2MP front camera (nowt on the rear).
The 8GB Asus Nexus 7 is tipped to come in at $199, while a 16GB model would cost $249.
We’ll find out for reals later on today. Probably.
