Are any of the budget tablets good?

Are any of the sub £300 tablets good? I really just fancy one for browsing from the sofa (I don't have a laptop), maybe play some games.

Starting with the ipad2 which can be got for that new on ebuyers ebay site quite regularly atm although typically not right now. The well regarded refurbs from apple direct just touch under that mark too and usually described as like new.

Rather cheaper but definitely nice for browsing is the Blackberry Playbook with os2, the browser is lovely, screen very nice. Less of a range of games and some dearer but very cheap price for tablet itself.

Android front
The Turbo versions of Archos 80 (8") and 101 (10") tablets both seem to handle ICS very well build quality has been criticised do have a plasticy feel as they are light. Seen rather complimentary reviews of it. Will try to find link.
Xoom is bit long in the tooth but sturdy build quality and 32gb on board with sd slot give it some benefits, though build quality does make it weighty and archos should be faster.

Thanks! Think I'll see if I can get one of the cheap iPad 2s you mentioned! :)

Just for browsing something like the Archos G9 80 will do. Archos are good for software updates. And though they are plasticky, you get good value for the money....

Yeah less than £220 for a 1.5ghz dual core 1gb ram, ICS tablet is pretty good going. The optional 3g dongle is nice touch too. And I do like the 250gb version.
