Should I buy an official iPhone Lightning charger?

My iPhone Lightning charger is looking increasingly worse for wear and needs replaced.

But should I buy an official charger at £15, or risk it with a cheap one?

On Amazon, even the highly rated ones are seemingly hit and miss, but worse still, on the Apple Store, the official charger has a 1/5 average rating, and lots of people saying they've had to buy 3 or 4!

A lot of people have always given out about the OLD Apple chargers, too. And Macbook chargers, also... And the old Nokia chargers, and the old SE chargers...

Personally I think people just treat those accessories badly. And they are p*ssed off when they realise it's not just a kettle cord you can buy in the pound shop...

That said, do you just need the cable or the whole monty?
I'd stay clear of anything too cheap to be true.
But that is me...

Using quite a sturdy black cable from Amazon. Hopefully it'll last a few months...... until the iPhone 6 comes out at least ;)
