I have one on preorder, but I thinkI'll miss a memory card slot, so I'll cancel, methinks.

By the way, Nokia just launched a native Spotify app. Seems they do still develop.

Also, pssssss, rumours of a successor ;) http://www.slashgear.com/n9-successor-tipped-meego-maemo-or-just-madness-25190592/

Isn't there a massive 64gb version floating around? I doubt you'd need a memory card with that beast :p.

I know, still... I prefer the flexibility of an SD card. And g*dknows how much that 64GB N9 will cost o_O

Pocketnow.com had a 64gb black one in their unboxing and hardware review, it was a truly gorgeous looking device. They didn't mention the price though as they've not done the full review yet.

Jan, moderate please ^^^^

Done ;)

$910 oh, okay, Elop. :p

matt101101 / MOD  Oct. 25, 2011 at 15:11

Nearly $1000 for a phone that, arguably, uses 2010 technology and definitely uses a "dead in the water", OS....

It may be a nice looking and very functional phone (which I feel will be better than it's WP7 sibling), but it's unfortunately, not for me.

Btw, that's $1000ish, imported from Singapore, not bought from anywhere reputable, like Amazon...

JanSt / MOD  Oct. 26, 2011 at 09:22

Well, the N9 is official in Singapore.
Anyway, ...

PS my laptop uses 2 year old tech and an 'outdated' linux flavour. It def'ly wipes the floor with current win/mac machines :p

matt101101 / MOD  Oct. 26, 2011 at 10:27

Is that wiping the floor with the outdated windows 7 though? Windows 8 is at least 25% quicker on the same laptop, I've found. Anyway, back on topic, I know the N9 is officially released over in Singapore, it's just I wouldn't spend nearly $1000 on ebay to import something from Singapore, just seems way to dodgy for me...

As for outdated tech, I didn't mean pure speed, I meant cost of production, a single core processor such as the one in the N9 costs less than a dual core one to make, which SHOULD, mean the phone costs less to buy...same goes for the rest of the hardware as well....

JanSt / MOD  Oct. 26, 2011 at 11:00

Gotcha ;)

I'm with GSMArena on this one: they said in their review of the N9, "when something works so well, who cares what's driving it" (my paraphrasing ;)

matt101101 / MOD  Oct. 26, 2011 at 11:25

I don't know how to put this...I'm not Treab maybe ;)...I recognise the fact it doesn't have any need for a dual core processor, just a single core costs less to produce so why the stupid price tag? No doubt the N9 is a beast of a phone, if it had expandable memory and I didn't own an S2, I'd probably buy one, it'd be so well built it'd become a family heir loom haha :D.

hahaha

I got this phone the day it came out, and It is immaculate, such a beautiful phone, intuitive and easy to use, I feel so bad parting with it, I purchased an iPhone two weeks after getting this phone because of the lack of apps. If you don't want apps (which is what i thought when I got the phone) then get it, but if you're like me, having a phone which should be capable of having apps will make you want them.

Expansys Ireland just upped the price - from €599 to €624.99 ...pffft

matt101101 / MOD  Oct. 28, 2011 at 17:08

That's nearly 550 GBP...ouch...somehow, I feel they won't sell many N9s.

JanSt / MOD  Oct. 28, 2011 at 17:15

You think? It's nuts.

matt101101 / MOD  Oct. 28, 2011 at 17:35

Remember the other day, Jan. Nearly $1000 for a 64GB version...sadly, another Nokia failure :(

This time only due to pricing...this has genuinely annoyed me, I like Nokia, I want them to do well, but Elop successfully manages to mess up EVERYTHING, he gets his stupid American hands on :'(.

JanSt / MOD  Oct. 28, 2011 at 17:48

Yeah well, who'd hire a guy who was responsible for Adobe and MS Office? Didn't they read his resume? :p

matt101101 / MOD  Oct. 28, 2011 at 17:53

I'm just hoping for Office 2012 to be half decent, then I might stop using Google Docs for all my work. I think Nokia just hired the first American they could get their hands on, genuinely, my 12 year old daughter could run Nokia more successfully than Elop...

JanSt / MOD  Oct. 28, 2011 at 17:55

Why don't you use Open Office, or Softmaker? One is free the other is cheaper, both are better o_O

Treab  Oct. 28, 2011 at 18:12

I just wanna say... OI bringing me into a thread i wasnt involved in as i was too busy laughing :p

sorry but an outdated phone with an outdated os costing more then an iphone 4s is bad enough... but a phone costing more than the iphone 4s without an apple logo HAHAHA ;)

tiimmmy  Oct. 30, 2011 at 20:29

id pay an extra £500 for a phone without an apple logo:p
