Is anyone buying a Samsung Galaxy Note 3?

I think the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 looks quite tasty!
Is anyone buying one or upgrading?

No, but only because I already have a Note 2. If I had anything worse, I'd be getting the Note 3 without a doubt.

I hate Android (well, Google), but if pushed, the Note 3 would be the ONLY device I'd even consider before I tied a string between two cans. I had both previous Notes and even the first one still beats most other phones on the market. When I offered 'my' Note 2 to matt, he declined because the size concerned him. Then he caved and bought one anyways. He now loves it.

I wish I'd have bought the bloody thing off you, worst phone buying decision I've made in recent history haha.

That said, I do love my Note 2. It's the best phone I've owned by a long way. It's not as far ahead of its time as my S2 was, but it's an outright better device, without a shadow of a doubt.

The Note 4 will most likely become my Note 2's replacement.

I'm considering(***) a Note 3. Not as my everyday type phone, more as a supplement. My next phone is in the mail. It's a Nokia, it's metal. It's weird.
I won't go for an iPhone 5S/C - who am I kidding. And my N9 is now really too annoying - sudden lag seems weirdly hardware caused.

*** = kind of considering. I will probably wait. Again. See if that Yota every materialises. And who knows what else.

sidenote: Samsung just mentioned on Twitter that they 'sold' (shipped?) 38 million Galaxy Note/Note 2 units. Not bad.

What Nokia have you bought?

If you buy a Note 3 and decide you hate it, I know a buyer who might be interested at the right price ;).

I'm using my note a secondary device at the moment, I'm testing out Three so the three SIM is in the Note and my T-Mob SIM in my £5 Samsung E1150i haha :p.

I 'bought' a NEW Nokia N91!!!! Hahaha - just as a phone and music player. It IS the best-sounding musicplayer on the planet even after all these years. It's crap in every other way - the curious design apart. It can serve as a wifi hotspot for something more internet-capable.
I have pretty much given up on finding something that combines a good musicplayer, camera etc... I'll de-converge! :p

Also: I find that every time I get an app update notification (on whatever device) I just end up uninstalling that app cause I probably haven't used it in weeeeeks.
I guess, I'm a bit bored by all these things. Cutting it to the essential. Last week I mostly used my old E75.

f you buy a Note 3 and decide you hate it, I know a buyer who might be interested at the right price I'll keep that in mind - once it's out here in Ireland...who knows ;)

The Note 3 isn't big enough. I'm buying a Z Ultra...

The N91 was amazing. I actually cried when I lost mine (I was fourteen at the time).

Dual sim version of Note 3 coming to China.

Bet it's going to be overpriced again and no 4G support :(

satchef,
the sound is still awesome

How much did you spend on it (this time around)?

My wallet is itching to buy a Note 3...if I see a good deal for one, I'll probably end up buying it (much to the Mrs' displeasure, I'm sure).

matt, paid nothing... Someone back home in Germany had one lying around. Looks like new. Because it is new (unused)

JanSt / MOD  Sep. 10, 2013 at 23:15

So, €3 for a new battery

You lucky b*stard :p! They were really expensive when they were new, weren't they?

To be honest though, nothing beats the Nokia N93...it was so cool haha.

N93 is really hard to get. I want a white E6 or E71 ...

I guessed, I just looked on eBay and they're ~£150 oO!! They were very cool though, they had optical zoom for God sake!

The E6 looks to be the better device, then again it is about 3 years younger than the E71.

JanSt / MOD  Sep. 11, 2013 at 00:00

But the E71 is indestructible.... Unless you drown it... as I did :(

Maybe I just wait and try a Note 3? I might just root it, kill every Google service and sideload all apps. Maybe a WP7 theme? :D

If I didn't have a Note 1, then would get Note 3....when my contract ends next May, might get one then...The Note 1 has been amazing, best gadget I've ever had, does basically everything you need...

yes, im surprised more phones havent gone down the "pistol grip" route, its defiantly the best solution for camcorders and, like ytou say, the extra depth allows for an optical zoom

Have a camera in that orientation with 20+ megapixels and a serious zoom, then a foldable touchscreen and you'd have a winner IMO

JanSt / MOD  Sep. 11, 2013 at 13:07

True. With today's hard- and software you could turn the N93 formfactor into something awesome.
