How can you tell if someone called you while your phone was switched off?

You know how you get the "1 missed call" thing when you miss a call. Is there something similar for when your phone is switched off or if the battery dies. How can you tell if you've missed a call? (Apart from them leaving a voicemail, if they choose not to leave one)

Haha that must have been quite a list! It's definitely network specific, though I don't know exactly which networks notify you of missed calls. If they do, it'd sent to the phone as an SMS (txt).

Not sure if it's network specific. But I recently used my E71 again after about 5 months and about 5 minutes in I got reminders for every missed call in that period - some going back 4 months...
Now I'm curious ;)

I don't get it on my iPhone 4 on Tesco Mobile... if calls come when the phone is off, I wouldn't hear about it. What network are you Jan?

I'm on Vodafone Ireland

On O2 you used to be able to dial 1471 and get details of the last call read out just like on a landline. Unfortunately it was scrapped by 02 several months ago along with other services such as bluebook, but other networks may still have 1471.
