My Nokia Blog has been eavesdropping on a Twitter conversation between Damian and Hell (you heard me), with sexy results.
Apparently both the Nokia N9 and Lumia 800 will receive software updates for their cameras, courtesy of Nokia's Damian Dinning.
Dinning worked on the awesome 12.1MP snapper on the Nokia N8, pretty much the best smartphone camera on the market. Probably fair to say his presence on the software update project is a good thing then.
The Nokia N9 and Lumia 800 are largely the same phone; the former is powered by MeeGo while the latter rocks Windows Phone 7. However, the Nokia N9’s camera is thought to perform better than the Lumia 800’s.
Here’s that Twitter convo in black and white:
Michael Hell: have you been working on the camera of the Lumia 800 as well?
Damian Dinning: have had a little involvement and continue to do so.
Michael Hell: any comments on some reports about the camera being not as good as on the N9?
Damian Dinning: working on sw updates to both to improve performance, no further details for now.
It’ll be interesting to see what difference the software update makes to the Nokia Lumia 800. It’s essentially a standard Mango shooter as it stands. Stay tooned…
