Carphone Warehouse leaks LG Nexus 4: 4.7in display, Android 4.2 So I was just about to write up the latest rumour piece on the LG Nexus 4, thanks to evleaks over on twitter, with the obligatory sprinkle of salt – just to be on the safe side.

However, it looks like evleaks was bang on the money. How do we know? Carphone Warehouse has only gone and started taking LG Nexus 4 pre-orders ahead of the official announcement.

In what is surely a spectacular faux pas, the UK's Carphone Warehouse has seemingly become the first retailer in the world to start taking official LG Nexus 4 pre-orders.

Of course, Google has an Android event scheduled for Monday, and the LG Nexus 4 is/was tipped to be one of the stars. Oops.

As predicted, the LG Nexus 4 is essentially an LG Optimus G in a curvier Samsung Galaxy Nexus-style body.

LG Nexus 4 specs are confirmed to include a 4.7in display (1280 x 768, 320 PPI), Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean), a quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor clocked at 1.5GHz, NFC (Near Field Communication), and an 8MP rear camera with 1080p video recording.

As for LG Nexus 4 storage, it weighs in at a modest 8GB. We’re hoping/assuming/praying there’s a microSD slot in there.

And that’s the LG Nexus 4. Carphone Warehouse is promising delivery on October 30, incidentally. We’re wondering if that LG Nexus 4 pre-order page will disappear in the meantime. Great stuff.

The evleaks pictures are fake - LG Nexus 7 clearly doesn't run AOKP..

Don't get your hopes up for a MicroSD slot, because there is no chance it will be included; google haven't included a microsd in any of their devices for years, they won't start now. Plus, its been confirmed by multiple sources with the device that it doesn't have a microsd.

8GB is an absolute joke though even if it is a cost cutting measure, 16gb should be the absolute minimum for a phone with no MicroSD, and even 16gb is a bit of joke.

Glad i went for the note 2 now, i could only deal with 32gb at minimum. Happy with my note 2 with my 80gb of storage..

If it is just 8gb they've hamstrung it

Ive owned all the other Nexus phones, will be gutted to not get this because of lack of storage. I like to download my Spotify playlists onto the phone as Vodafone coverage is so **** in London now it cant be relied upon. Will stick with the S3 and 32gb SD class 10 card

I'm pretty sure it mentioned Android 4.2 and 4.1.2. Gone now though, gah.

If it does turn out to be 8gb with no sd slot, I really hope it bombs. As in, seriously blows up in their faces and then the manufacturers may finally learn to give the consumer what they want.

I also have reservations believing this cost cutting nonsense, memory is cheap these days.

To be honest I was imagining the Nexus 4 as my next phone... great LG hardware but without their awful software and instead Nexus updates.... unfortunately I assumed the "Nexus 4" would have a 4 inch screen... now I know its 4.7in, which IMHO is too big for a phone, I will be looking elsewhere...

Where that will be, I have no idea. Anyone know of any quad-cores with 4inch or a little larger screens?

Oh and just to add... if the Nexus 4 is anything like the Nexus7, no doubt they will have a 16GB and maybe even 32GB versions out in 6 months.... they get more and more like Apple every day...

Nexus 4 is because its the forth nexus phone..nothing to do with screen size.

I am finding it hard to believe that it would ship with 8gb unless its extremely cheap, i would make a guess there will be a 16gb version available also at launch.and a 32gb at a later date as you say.

Not sure why you thought it had a 4inch screen though, the galaxy nexus had a 4.65inch display so a 4inch display would be a downgrade and a step back.

As for a powerful device with a 4 inch screen, not sure really. Think one of the Xperia's or HTC One S if you can put up with pentile/bad battery/no microsd. ZTE Era is an upcoming phone with tegra 3 + 4.3 Inch screen, that's probably the best you can do for now.
