Which US cell provider has the fastest 4G network?

Which US cell provider (Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile) has the fastest 4G network?

Verizon.

But it depends on your area as a different provider may work better in your area.

PC Mag did a study in June, and I'm grateful. Cause I'm feeling lazy :p
In a nutshell: In terms of national 4G/LTE coverage and speed in the USA T-Mobile was beaten by Verizon.

Ahmad is right, of course. The study I linked to is meaningless when your area is not covered.
I live in the west of Ireland. The two leading networks do not even give me proper 2G!

T-Mobile has fastest LTE and 3G networks, with least coverage than anyone else. If you are lucky enough to pick up T-Mobile LTE it will be fastest. Just like in UK coverage is limited to big metropolitan areas.

Verizon has the best coverage for LTE, because Verizon doesn't have proper 3G network. Verizon uses different CDMA protocol for 3G communications that is nowhere as fast as worldwide UMTS. Because of that Verizon is first one to update to LTE whenever humanly possible. However, as there is no 3G backup for Verizon you absolutely must have LTE phone and network can be quite congested.
On the upside there is no 2G network for Verizon due to very simple upgrade path for Verizon from 2G to 3G (what Verizon phone shows you - not a real 3G network). 2G still there for compatibility only.
What you will see in rural area is T-Mobile roaming on ATT, ATT in 2G and Verizon in 3G. Verizon 3G is capped to 3Mbps, but this much better than 2G. This is why Verizon has best overall coverage.

ATT has best 3G coverage, but with marginally slower speeds than T-Mobile. They are not as fast to jump to LTE as their 3G network is really good.
