CES 2014: Alcatel One Touch POP 7 and POP 8 announced, two more entirely uninspiring Android tablets

CES 2014: Alcatel One Touch POP 7 and POP 8 announced, two more entirely uninspiring Android tabletsAs I’ve mentioned about 3,691 times today, Samsung announces, like, 83 new devices on a daily basis (exaggerating; only slightly), but giving the South Koreans a run for their Won is French manufacturer Alcatel (which I’m possibly confusing with Archos; same difference).

No stranger to stupid names (Alcatel One Touch Scribe Easy, anyone?), the French have today unveiled a pair of new tablets called the One Touch POP 7 and One Touch POP 8. That reminds me about my “one touch pop” problem. Really should speak to someone about that…

The One Touch POP spec sheets will leave you thoroughly unmoved (a bit like my one touch pop), but I’m duty bound to relay them anyway. Ready to feign some interest? Thanks in advance, guy.

For starters, Alcatel One Touch POP 7 specs include a 7in display (1024 x 600), 1.3GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 4GB internal storage, microSD compatibility, 2MP rear camera, 0.3MP front shooter, Jelly Bean Android 4.2, and a 3,240mAh battery.

Slightly more impressive are Alcatel One Touch POP 8 specs, including an 8in display (1280 x 800) and 1.3GHz quad-core processor, though otherwise it seems to be identical to the One Touch POP 7 (save for a 4,100mAh battery).

No word on Alcatel One Touch POP 7 or POP 8 UK price or availability just yet, but I can’t imagine anyone caring. If you’ve made it to the bottom of this article, you’re a freakin’ hero. Well done.
