The Lenovo Yoga tablets have become something of a cult hit with bargain hunters, and indeed this week we’ve contemplated the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 8 for £119.99 at Argos, or £94.99 as a manufacturer refurb from Argos eBay.
This latest Lenovo Yoga tablet – the Yoga Tablet 8 2 with Windows – sounds oddly compelling, too, building on the hinge design with intriguing AnyPen Technology. Yes, that's a fork in the press image. Full story below.
The Lenovo Yoga Tablet 8 2 with Windows launched at CES 2015 this week, and while it’s one of several new Lenovo devices, it’s seemingly the only one destined for the west.
Sticking with the hinge design, the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 8 2 with Windows includes four unique modes (“unlike any other tablet on the market”), namely Hold, Tilt, Stand and Hang; the flap thingamajig seems to have a hole inviting users to mount the tablet.
The headline feature, however, is the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 8 2 with Windows’ AnyPen Technology, which lets users use – you guessed it – any pen as a stylus.
Better still, as demonstrated in the accompanying press pics, you can use pretty much any implement as a stylus. In the picture above, the chap writes “love you too” with a fork. Spectacular stuff.
Other Lenovo Yoga Tablet 8 2 with Windows specs include an 8in IPS 1080p display, 64-bit quad-core Intel Atom processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB internal storage, 8MP rear camera, 1.6MP front camera, stereo speakers with Dolby Audio and Wolfson Master Hi-Fi noise reduction, and a 6,400mAh battery offering up to 15 hours’ use.
Lenovo Yoga Tablet 8 2 with Windows price is set at $299 in the US (roughly £200), and we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed for a UK launch in due course. After the inevitable price drops, we could have another Lenovo cult hit on our hands.
