Can you ever get charged for answering a call on your mobile?

I've heard urban legends of getting charged a premium rate for answering a scam call on your mobile, but can that really happen?

I know of a scam that targeted Irish mobile users. A 1 second call that would appear to come from an Irish number. The curious would call back said number and be actually routed through to a Slovenian premium number.

There are other scams that are not urban myths... 'telemarketers' from blocked international premium numbers. As a rule, I do NOT answer calls from blocked numbers. If I missed out on anything great, I'm none the wiser, and frankly don't give a hoot :D
