Can a cheap charger harm your phone?

Can a cheap charger actually damage your phone, or are they just likely to stop working after a while?

If it explodes or goes haywire, then chances are it could ruin your health as well as you phone.
Though I would state that cheap doesn't mean poor. If it's on sale or something it could be cheap but perfectly good. But if its an unbranded or 'too cheap to be true' lookalike, chances are it will at best go wrong, at worst... well I shudder to think

I have had quite a few "cheap" chargers and never really had a problem with them damaging anything. They do tend to break though. I personally think most of the time what you buy in the store for 10x the price is the same thing with a brand name on it.

Sure, but if they 'break' who's to say what else they'll take out with them?

Yes, it can also start a fire and burn down entire apartment or house.
