Cheapest way to buy an iPhone 6?

What's the most cost effective way to buy an iPhone 6?
Are there any especially good networks offers anywhere?
Is it more sensible to go SIM free and SIM only?
Thanks! :D

I gave up contracts a few years ago and always buy unlocked direct from Apple. I upgrade every year so sell last years model to fund the purchase of the new model and usually only have to add £150-£200 to it to cover the cost of the new model. Then I have a sim only plan which costs me £9 a month.

You'd probably pay £150-£200 give or take up front on a contract anyway then be stuck with £30-£40 a month for two years. So in my view it's best to go contract free if you can.
