What's the cheapest way to get an iPhone 6?

What's the cheapest way to get an iPhone 6? I could buy one outright or get a contract? What's the best deal?

I always buy outright and then have a sim only plan at £9 a month. I think it really depends on how many mins, texts and data you need each month and what the upfront and ongoing monthly contract prices are. I just couldn't justify paying out £40-£50 a month on a contract so stopped contracts a few years ago and always buy outright, especially as I upgrade each year. Bought an iPhone 6 this year, cost me £200 after selling my iPhone 5S and only costs me £9 a month for the sim so works out vastly cheaper from that point of view.
