China's Meizu MX3 looks a lot like the HTC One

China's Meizu MX3 looks a lot like the HTC OneIn 2011 we met the dual-core Meizu MX “dream phone”, and last year we had the quad-core Meizu MX2. You all know what comes next, right?

Correct! We’re told to brace for the Meizu MX3 to come equipped with an octo-core processor on the inside, while on the outside it looks really kinda familiar, almost as if the Meizu MX2 slept with the HTC One.

Specifically, the Meizu MX3 is tipped to rock the Exynos 5 Octa chip, same as the 3G Samsung Galaxy S4 (and some LTE units in Korea).

Other Meizu MX3 specs supposedly include a 5.1in display (1920 x 1200), and, er, that’s all we’re told for the moment.

However, with last year’s MX2 rocking 2GB of RAM, an 8MP rear camera with f/2.4 exposure rating, and Jelly Bean (Android 4.1.2), the Meizu MX3 will at least match those credentials. Prob’ly.

The Meizu MX3 isn’t the only phone seemingly taking its design cue from HTC. Earlier in the week, I relayed news of the Star S5 Butterfly, a cheeky Chinese chap acting as a wallet-friendly alternative to the HTC Butterfly.

It may look like the HTC One, but it's going to be far more superior and much better priced than it.

....so how much is this Chinese bad boy likely to be and how do we get our hands on it?

If it's anything like Meizu's last phone then it should be around the £250 price point. As is the case with nearly every Chinese manufacturer, the only way to get this would be via importing it. So it's not exactly going to be a hit here in the UK. But in China Meizu is one of their premium manufacturers and make phones better than the likes of Samsung and for cheaper, so it'll see well over there.
