Sony is continuing in full-scale tease mode ahead of the Sony Xperia Z1 (or “Honami”) announcement at IFA next week.
Sony reckons “the best of Sony is about to get even better”, and offers up a succession of sultry sweeps and half-glimpses of the Xperia Z1 by way of proof.
If you're more interested in actual facts, we're talking a 5in 1080p display, Snapdragon 800 processor, 3000mAh battery, waterproofing and that 20.7MP G Lens camera.
What the teaser clip makes quite clear is that unlike rival cameraphones such as the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom and Nokia's Lumia 1020, the high-resolution camera sensor hasn't interfered at all with the sleek design of the Xperia Z1's chassis.
Does that mean it isn't as good as its rivals despite the impressive megapixel count? Possibly, but Sony has plenty of imaging and display-related software goodies to throw at the Xperia Z1, and outside of tell-tale areas like low light photography, you might find the difference in the end isn't much at all.
