It’s probably fair to say that Motorola Atrix users in our United Kingdom are a little miffed about being stuck on Froyo (Android 2.2). After all, the Gingerbread (Android 2.3) update has already been pumped out to Atrix users in the States.
Well, our guys – along with their Xoom and Milestone 2 cousins – are set to get a taste of delicious Gingerbread pretty freakin’ soonish. Rejoice!
An official statement from Motorola reads: “Many of you are eagerly awaiting the 2.3 upgrade for Motorola ATRIX and Motorola Milestone 2; as well as 3.2 for Motorola XOOM and we’re pressing ahead to get the new software ready.
“Due to some additional fixes that needed to be made, we’re now working towards releasing the software for Motorola XOOM at the end of October and for Motorola ATRIX and Milestone 2 in mid-November. We will let you know as soon as we are able to make the software available to you.”
Motorola recently revealed the successor to the rugged Defy, namely the Defy+, which will – shock horror – buck the Moto trend by shipping with Gingerbread on board. “Sacre bleu!” as the Germans say.
