Motorola almost drowned in a sea of Razr mobiles a few years back, but - much to our surprise - we’re not complaining about the handful of new Razrs we’ve seen over the past months.
First was the plain old Motorola Razr, former “world’s thinnest smartphone”, followed by the Motoroal Razr Maxx (slightly chunkier with a bigger battery), and now we’ve got the Motorola Razr Developer Edition.
The US manufacturer today announced the Motorola Razr Developer Edition, which - as you probably guessed - ships with an unlocked bootloader, on The Official Motorola Blog. It’s destined for Europe first (huzzah!) but will eventually make its way to the US of A too.
Moto screamed: “This solution allows us to continue meeting our carrier and regulatory obligations, but also meets the needs being expressed by our developer community.”
The manufacturer continues: “Post-purchase, the MOTODEV site will contain all support info for unlocking, relocking and locating build files, as well as access to additional developer resources.”
We’re told to expect “the same great features” as the original Motorola Razr, such as a Super AMOLED display and Kevlar fiber. Nice.
The Motorola Razr Developer unlockable Bootloader (XT910) is available now from the Motorola Shop, and will be sold without warranty for €499.
