The Galaxy Grand series has been fairly successful over the years, delivering big-screen wallet-friendly alternatives to Samsung’s flagship phones – the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note.
We’re officially told to expect “The Grandest Ever” soon. That’ll be the Samsung Galaxy Grand 3 then.
BGR shares the official Galaxy Grand 3 teaser, fired out by Samsung in India. We get a sneak peek at the front of the device, looking unsurprisingly familiar, and the promise that it’s “COMING SOON”.
The Samsung Galaxy Grand 3 is tipped to be thinner, shorter, narrower and lighter than the Galaxy Grand 2, coming in at 146×74.8×7.95mm and 140g (vs. 146.8×75.3×8.9mm and 163g).
Rumoured Samsung Galaxy Grand 3 specs include a 5.25in 720p display, quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, 16GB internal storage, and Android KitKat 4.4.4.
The Samsung Galaxy Grand 2, launched in November 2013, had a 5.25in 720p display, quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 8MP rear camera, 1.9MP front camera, 8GB expandable storage, and is upgradeable to Android KitKat.
A marginal improvement then, but if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
Expect the Samsung Galaxy Grand 3 to launch in the weeks running up to Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015, lest it be completely overshadowed by the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.
