The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 launched in early September to a unanimously positive response, and it’s been largely quiet on the Samsung phablet front since – as we patiently await the thing’s release.
But wait! Word from out east suggests a special edition Samsung Galaxy Note 3 with a flexible display will land as soon as next month. Just don’t expect to be bending that bad boy in half.
One of the rumoured Samsung Galaxy Note 3 features that failed to materialise was an “unbreakable” display, but that appears to be what we’re looking at here.
See, while this new Samsung Galaxy Note 3 display will technically be flexible, you won’t actually be able to bend it as such – since the rest of the handset’s components will be comparatively rigid. What we have instead is increased durability.
It’s not clear how the phone will be marketed, though the Samsung Galaxy S4 was quickly followed by the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active, complete with water-resistance and dustproofing. Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Active, anyone?
In further Samsung rumour action, Taipei Times says Samsung will adopt a metal body for next year’s Samsung Galaxy S5, with orders going to Taiwanese Catcher, which already rocks the party metal-style for the iPad, iPhone and HTC One.
