How do you connect a console controller to an iPad?

Dead Trigger 2 is saying I can connect a console controller.
How do you connect a console controller to an iPad?
I have an Xbox and a PS3 :)

You'll need to jailbreak your iPad (so you're out of luck for the moment if you've updated to iOS7) however I'd recommend getting a wii remote as there's already a lot of support for them on different emulators and controller map apps etc.

There will soon be some ios7 game controllers coming out for the iPhone/iPad which is why you may of noticed a few apps have already been updated in preparation for this.

Some controllers will be separate from the device while some will attach on to the iPhone and increase your battery life with built in battery packs.

I'm really looking forward to this as I currently use a PS3 controller with a jailbroken iPad and find games so much better/easier to play with a proper controller.
