Why is there constant crackling in my Motorola Milestone earphones?

It sounds like there could be a fault with either your Motorola Milestone or your earphones. Try another set of headphones and see if the crackling persists. If not, then you just had faulty headphones.

If it does have the same fault with a second set of headphones, the headphone jack on your Motorola Milestone might need repaired. Contact your provider - chances are they'll send the handset away for repair, and give you a temporary handset (not necessarily a Motorola Milestone) in the meantime.

Do you mean the earpiece built into the phone? The speaker? Or the earphones you connect to listen to music etc? And by 'constant', do you mean always? Or during calls?

It's in the earphones attached to my ears. Mostly when listening to music.

Yes, have you tried a different set of earphones? That really sounds as if either the socket is faulty, or the jack doesn't fit perfectly... Sometimes the design of the phone and the location of the earphone socket lead to a situation where some types of earphones just don't fit properly.

I'll try and different set of headphones and see how that goes! Thanks!

In the meantime you cod try your headset in a different device - your telly or something. That way you'd know they work or not...
