How do I copy iPhone photos to a Windows laptop?
I want to be able to see the photos, so I don't mean just an iTunes backup
I can't see how to do it through iTunes though...... am I missing something?

To import your iPhone photos to a Windows computer, connect your iPhone to the Windows computer with the USB cable. Do NOT open iTunes.
A file manager dialog should open because Windows detects the iPhone as a connected camera. Choose "Open to View Files and Folders".
If the pop-up does not open, go to My Computer - where Windows lists all connected and internal drives. Your iPhone should be listed as a connected camera. Click and open until you find your iPhone photos.
If none of that works, you can install "iTools" or iExplorer alongside iTunes; they are iPhone 'management' programs that do a few things iTunes doesn't do - without the need of jailbreak.
