what's the most cost effective way of getting an iPhone 5s?

I'm quite a light user and thinking of getting an iPhone 5s soon.
would I be better getting a SIM free + SIM only combination or is there a cost effective contract option?

I don't care how you spend your money, but as a self-confessed light user, do you really need/want to blow a shed load of your hard earned cash on a top end smartphone?

As for the cheapest way to get one, you'd need to look at the available contract deals on your preferred network and then compare them to the SIM free price plus the SIM only contract cost.

The most cost effective way is to generally buy one sim-free and then get a sim only deal. I started doing that last year with the iPhone 5 as I didn't want to be locked into contracts anymore. Looking at the price of contracts nowadays they charge you a hell of a lot of money over the lifetime of the contract and you end up paying a lot more for the phone.
