We’re expecting the Samsung Galaxy S II to be among the first smartphones to receive a slice of Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0), but if you reeeaaally can’t wait there’s a custom version now kicking about.
However, SamMobile has had a play around with it and warns that it’s not exactly ideal for daily use. Also, it’ll void your warranty. Eek.
The custom version of Ice Cream Sandwich for the Samsung Galaxy S II is also known as I9100XXKP1 (catchy), and comes complete with Sammo’s TouchWiz goodness.
All the basics are said to be fully functional, such as calls, texts and internet, however the I9100XXKP1 build is prone to random reboots, it’s occasionally sluggish, and some apps will force close from time to time.
Yeah, probably better to wait for the official release.
Ice Cream Sandwich finally arrived alongside the Samsung Galaxy Nexus just a few weeks ago, and the larger Android community is itching for some Android 4.0.
As Motorola notes, it’s a bit of a lengthy process.
