How much data would one iMessage use?

Does anyone know how much data a 160-character message via iMessage would use? I'm guessing it'd be quite small, but my monthly data allowance is quite low!

I'm curious also. Would like to compare it to "Whats Up" usage.

Well a bog-standard SMS is under 150 bytes in size, so I'm assuming iMessage would be around that.

You have to include data overhead and error correction. Network sockets use buffer implementation and it might be same amount of data sending 160 bytes and 1KB.

Most iMessages (line of text) will be around the same as a push notification. Unless you're sending thousands, you won't even notice.
