A frequently asked questions page for iCloud, due to arrive in autumn, details the fate of the various MobileMe services. Most of the services will carry over, however iWeb publishing, iDisk and Gallery will cease to exist as we know them.
Users have until 30 June, 2012 to move their stuff. On the plus side, five new features will be introduced.
The MobileMe services making the transition to iCloud in autumn are: Mail, Contacts, Calendar, Bookmarks, Find My iPhone, and Back to My Mac.
With regards to iWeb, Apple says: “you can easily move a site published to MobileMe to another web hosting service and you should do so before [30 June, 2012].”
The new iCloud services (let’s go for bullet points this time) are:
▪ iTunes in the Cloud
▪ Photo Stream
▪ Documents in the Cloud
▪ Automatic downloads and purchase history for apps and books
