The iPad Air 2 is officially the thinnest tablet in the world at the moment – or the thinnest tablet you can buy, at least, but things are about to get even skinnier.
The Dell Venue 8 7000 was detailed back in September, and it’s finally set to go on sale next month (that’s November, for the calendrically challenged).
That’s the official word over on – of all things – a contact page on the official Dell website. Strange way to make an announcement.
Apparently: “Your new Dell Venue 8 7000 will ship at the end of November”, just in time for the Christmas rush.
Dell Venue 8 7000 specs include an 8.4in OLED display (2560 x 1600), quad-core Intel processor, 2GB of RAM, 8MP rear camera, 16GB storage, stereo speakers, and KitKat Android 4.4.
Here’s what peeps are saying:
- “There’s a lot to like about its paper-thin design and its 3D-sensing camera that is for more than just selfies.” — PCWorld
- “We were very impressed with the tablet’s sleek design, eye-popping OLED screen and smooth performance.” – LAPTOP
- “This slate also comes with arguably the world's best tablet screen: a gorgeous 8.4-inch, 2560 x 1600 OLED panel with colors to die for. While You Weren't Looking, Dell Made Android Tablets Interesting Again.” – Gizmodo
Again, that’s late November in the US, coming in at $499. More news on a UK release – or lack thereof – as it becomes apparent.
