Microsoft is pretty pleased with itself on the whole Mango thing, it must be said. Its 500 new features are pretty special (or so it says), it's got Nokia on board, HTC and Samsung are bringing out new phones and all's looking rosy.
Except poor old Dell has given Mango a big no-thanks, saying it won't be making any new phones on the platform until Apollo arrives, the next version of WinPho after Mango.
Windows-watching blog wpcentral says Dell has cancelled the Wrigley – supposedly its Windows Phone 7.5 Mango offering – though no specific reason has been given.
The site goes on to add that Dell won't be making any more Windows Phones until at least 2013, which is probably when Apollo, or Windows Phone 8 as some reckon it'll be called, will appear.
Chances are that Dell is looking to more closely align its PC and mobile offerings, and it reckons it's worth holding off until Microsoft does the same with its operating systems.
We're not sure it's the best strategy, to be honest, but we'll wait and see.
