In all likelihood, Samsung will opt to give the imminent Galaxy S IV its own launch event, much like it did with the Galaxy S III last year.
Word from out east suggests HTC might be about to do the same with the much-discussed M7, with a separate pre-MWC launch event within the next couple of weeks. What the…?
We’re crediting, er, DigiTimes here, with “sources at the supply chain” suggesting the Taiwanese manufacturer can’t keep the HTC M7 in its pants till Barcelona.
Specifically, the HTC M7 will launch in London in “early February”, which really means next week or the week after.
Rumoured HTC M7 specs include a 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm processor, 4.7in 1080p display (468 PPI), 4G LTE connectivity, and a 13MP rear camera.
According to the sources, the HTC M7 release date will follow in the second half of March 2013. So that’s 4-8 weeks from launch to release? Hmm. Mid-February to mid-March wouldn’t be too bad, I guess.
DigiTimes notes that while Samsung and HTC will seemingly snub Mobile World Congress, we’ve at least got LG to look forward to – with the 5.5in LG Optimus G2.
Funnily enough, DigiTimes recently claimed that the LG Optimus G2 would launch at CES 2013. Crazy mofos.
