Have to jailbreak to do it, Apple don't agree with letting consumers control even basic essential parts of their device.

Yep that's true. It'll be back in 5.1.

I'd love to know why it was removed; it isn't something any company arbitrarily decides to ditch for their new flagship but leave enabled for older devices running the same software. Very odd.

Also, the fact that you cannot manually add/edit APNs... massive pain in the a*s, at least here in Ireland, where the default AP often cr*ps out. On other phones you can use other access points when stuck. But no - not on the mighty iPhonk

Wow, that's beyond stupidity. I'm guessing it was probably at the request of the American carriers to squeeze even more money out of people, hoping they go over their data allowance?

That's the only, even half reasonable, explanation I can think of...
