Is it possible to downgrade iPhone firmware?

Are old versions of iOS available, or can you only install the most recent version?

Yes it is possible, but the process is not as simple as just selecting a firmware and downgrading. Have you jailbroken you're phone before? Or saved any SSH's using TinyUmbrella? What reason do you require a downgrade?

Yes and there Are. But the exact answer comes in many flavours. The HOW depends on your firmware; on whether your iPhone is jailbreaked or not, etc etc
Here's is one guide to give you an idea ;)

Since upgrading to 4.3.1 I think my phone is a lot slower, so I was going to go back to 4.3 just. Will read that guide, thanks Jan.
