Why can't I download Real Racing 3?!

My iPad says I have 1.5GB storage free.
Real Racing 3 is 750MB.
My iPad says I don't have enough room.
My iPad is obviously terrible at maths :p

I might be totally wrong here, but most downloads work like this.

- Download the 750mb file
-install 750mb file meaning that you now have 1.5GB taken up
-Deletes original file leaving the installed 750mb.

So maybe you need a little bit more than 1.6GB just to install the game first.

Could be totally wrong though,

750 MB is the size of the file that you download. It's compressed in various ways, and the actually app takes up more space. Also, yes - as Ahmad said - the install process itself requires additional space... it's pretty much the same on ALL OSs, mobile or desktop. Some Win or Mac apps that weigh a GB as a download, actually require 10 times that as "minimum available space".
Anyhoo... I'm sure you have songs on your pad that you haven't listened to in weeks;vids you have watched enough already, apps you don't actually use? It takes 2 minutes to sync via iTunes. It takes around that long to figure out that Real Racing is just a very polished Mario Cart :p
