One SIM for the wife and one SIM for the girlfriend.

I'm not even kidding.

Dual SIM phones are popular for many reasons, e.g having one number for business and another for personal. Sometimes it works out cheaper to have two SIM's as one number has cheap rates locally and the other number has cheap rates for international calls thus complimenting each other. Also using two different networks can lead to better coverage and dual sim phones usually provide consumers better value for money.

In China you usually buy the device upfront with little to no subsidy. China has a huge prepay market.

In the UK it's contract that is more popular and the networks have a big control over manufacturers. No network is going to sell a dual sim phone subsidised in the UK only for the consumer to guy buy another network sim. Hence why uk networks are reluctant to sell dual sim phones.

Instead of dual sims I would LOVE to be able to use the same fr*gging number on 2 or more phones. But hey.... it's only the 21st century....

Check out Vodafone One Net.

It's a business solution though and not available for consumer accounts.

Yeah, I know... Curiously, for years they all claimed it was technically IMPOSSIBLE without risking network integrity ... WINK
