When was the last time we relayed some iPad 3 rumour goodness? Two days ago? Unacceptable! Let’s crack on.
The latest rumours from out east suggest that Apple is prepping an iPad 3 launch event for early February. Yeah, we’ve heard that one before.
That’s the latest according to Japanese blog Macotakara, which cites “sources from within Apple’s supply chain”. It’s funny, because various “sources” have been spouting all sorts of different stuff of late. Pass the salt, dear.
It’s also suggested that Apple will use the event to lift the lid on the next major iteration of its operating system, namely iOS 5.1. That one’s not too far fetched, as a beta version has already been served to developers.
Supposedly the iPad 3 would then be released in March, several weeks later. The problem we have with that is: there were just nine days between the iPad 2 launch and release, and 10 days for the iPhone 4S.
While the rumour mill continues to churn out a variety of dates, it seems pretty certain that the iPad 3 will have a high def 2048x1536 display. The first two iPads had an identical 1024x768 resolution.
