Looks to be very expensive for what it has to offer. Only gov't spending tax payers money can afford something like that.

Planning on going back to school?

Back to? That implies Jan has previously been to school ;).

Isn't it mandated by law that children have to attend elementary? Different rules in Ireland?

hahahahaha... Nah, it has some excellent features - at least on 'paper'. And colour eInk sounds great. I work a lot with PDFs,

How locked down is it? Stuff in schools (based on what my daughter has said about the IT systems in her school, which is ironically meant to be a specialist in Mathematics and Computing) tends to be far from open and easy to use. Many websites are blocked and the ability to download stuff from the web has been removed. Is there a consumer version of this tablet for non-pupil use?

From what I read it is fairly open - although it comes with sh*tloads of services.
I believe the JetBook IS the consumer version - schools etc sign up for additional services, content-locking etc.

Any other color eInk tabs? I know there is a dual screen reader - a colour Android tab, and an eInk Panel. Can't think of the brand though.
