EE initially announced its 4G plans back on September 11, and yesterday Jimmy Martinez was jawing about the launch handsets.
Now we’ve finally got a date for EE’s 4G service going live. Friends, set your time machines for October 30.
There’ll be 10 lucky EE 4G cities at launch, namely Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow (yay), Leeds, Liverpool, London, Manchester and Sheffield.
However, EE adds: “We aim to cover as much of the 10 cities as we can, but just so you know, all postcodes may not be switched on at the same time”.
By the end of 2012, EE aims to have an additional six cities smothered in 4G, bringing coverage to at least one third of the population. The subsequent six are Belfast, Derby, Hull, Nottingham, Newcastle and Southampton.
The seven EE 4G launch handsets are the iPhone 5, Nokia Lumia 920 and Lumia 820, Samsung Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II, HTC One X+, and Huawei Ascend P1 LTE.
Finally, there’s still no word on EE 4G contract prices, though the Orange T-Mobile conglomerate promises more details are “coming soon”. Hurry up, eh?
Is your city on the EE 4G list? Tempted by a cheeky move to EE, or not moved in the slightest?
